Systems and System Lines

System

A System, sometimes also referred to as Source System, is a specific System for a data source. This could be any data storage where data is available: web sources from the public internet like open databases from financial institutions like central banks, from a companies intranet like a SharePoint or big enterprise warehouse systems.

To connect to a System and handle the data transfer system individual Query Handlers are available. Systems are created and maintained within the Portal.

System Line

A System Line is a VDP object designed to manage different stages of Source Systems. This implies that each Source System has at least one associated System Line. While it may be less common for web-based Source Systems, it is essential for large enterprise warehouses where distinct environments for development, testing, quality assurance, and productive usage are necessary.

System Lines can be created and maintained within the Portal for each System.
